This Privacy Policy explains how Flotip ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you use the Flotip mobile application and related services (the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and to handling your data transparently and in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws.
By using Flotip you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
2. Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
Account information
- email address;
- name and username;
- profile photo (if provided);
- date of birth (used to verify the 16+ age requirement).
Usage data
- posts and screenshots you publish;
- library items you save;
- messages you send through the in-app chat;
- follows, likes, and other social interactions.
Technical data
- device model and operating system;
- IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- app version, crash reports, and basic diagnostic logs.
3. How We Use Data
We use your personal data to:
- provide and maintain the core features of the Service (account, feed, messaging, library);
- improve existing features and develop new ones based on aggregated usage patterns;
- protect the security of Flotip and its users (preventing fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access);
- communicate with you about the Service, including support requests and important updates.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to serve advertising.
4. Data Sharing
We share personal data only with trusted service providers that help us operate Flotip, namely:
- Google / Firebase (Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC) — authentication, database, file storage, push notifications, and crash analytics.
These providers act as data processors on our behalf, are contractually bound to protect your data, and may process it only according to our instructions. We do not share data with advertising networks or data brokers.
We may disclose personal data to public authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Flotip, our users, or the public.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure, primarily in data centers located in the European Union, with possible secondary processing in other regions where Google operates under appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production data is limited to authorized personnel and protected by strong authentication.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- Correction — ask us to rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated data;
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format;
- Restriction and objection — limit or object to certain processing activities;
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

7. Cookies and Tracking
The Flotip mobile app does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking SDKs. We use only a minimal set of essential identifiers needed to keep you signed in, deliver push notifications, and detect crashes. Our website uses only essential cookies necessary for basic operation.
8. Children's Privacy
Flotip is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will delete it as soon as possible. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact privacy@flotip.com.
9. Data Retention
We keep your personal data only for as long as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account from the in-app Settings, we initiate deletion of your account data and associated User Content within 30 days. Some limited information may be retained for a longer period when required by law (for example, for accounting, security, or fraud-prevention purposes) or when stored in encrypted backups that are rotated on a defined schedule.
